TRAIL DANCE WINNER & WRAP-UP

Posted: January 30, 2009

The Trail Dance Film Festival was this past weekend and I'm proud to say Spoiler Alert won a Golden Drover Award! It won the Festival Director's Choice Award.

It was a fantastic experience and I'd like to thank Anthony Foreman (Festival Director) and Ed Foreman (Festival Programmer) for putting on this tremendous event. I'd also like to thank all the staff and volunteers and film lovers in Oklahoma who made it possible. And also the people of Oklahoma for making this Easterner feel at home!

At the Festival I saw all or parts of 23 films (out of 115, it's a shame that I couldn't catch them all) and was really blown away by the overall high quality of the work. To have Spoiler Alert programmed in the same festival with these films was truly an honor and the quality of the films is a testament to the taste of all who run the fest, as well as the talent of so many independent filmmakers around the country and around the world.

Some of the outstanding films to watch for: Touching Home, The New True Charlie Wu, The Other Side of Paradise (Best Feature Comedy), Lambs (Best Short Thriller), My Movie Girl (Best Screenplay Award for Adam Bronstein) and, of course, Spoiler Alert.

It's a great way to start 2010. See you at the next Festival!

2008 WRAP-UP!

Posted: December 29, 2008

Greetings and Happy Holidays to all!

2008 has been a busy and incredible year in the life of Spoiler Alert. We finished the picture edit with Ryan Stober. We finished the sound mix with Cory Choy of Silver Sound, NY. And that means we wrapped post-production!

After that we posted a trailer on youtube. We designed and launched three websites relating to the film. We had a small, private cast and crew screening in NYC, which went over very well. We got a Spoiler Alert page on the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com). And finally, we've begun sending out film festival entries.

Best wishes to everyone for the New Year. Hopefully 2009 will be as eventful a year for Spoiler Alert as 2008 has been. And I hope to see everyone on the film festival circuit in '09!

Regards, David Rakowiecki

IMDB Listing!

Posted: November 24, 2008

We're on imdb! Unfortunately two of the main actors did not get listed, so I am working with imdb to rectify that. You can view the current listing here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1326865/

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Posted: October 31

One year ago this week we wrapped photography on Spoiler Alert after an intense 11 day shoot. It's been a long year of editing and sound mixing since then. Next up, hopefully some film festival acceptances and screenings.

FESTIVAL ENTRIES!

Posted: October 12

Festival Entries are starting to go out. Two sent so far, three more tomorrow. Stay tuned for details about what fests we're in!

Legal Glitch

Posted: August 17

So there we were, all finished with post-production, when some legal issues with the film came to light. So it's going to be another few weeks to replace some music tracks and re-edit one short scene to avoid any legal entanglements. Stay tuned.

POST-PRODUCTION WRAPPED!

Posted: July 31

It seems like yesterday, but it's been nine months since we wrapped principal photography on Spoiler Alert. And now, nine months to the day, post-production is COMPLETE! It's been a long haul, but well worth it. Kudos to Ryan Stober, editor extraordinaire, and Cory Choy (of Silver Sound NY) for the tremendous work they did in bringing this film to a whole new level. Now it will be off to the festivals. Stay tuned for more exciting announcements.

Sound Mix Complete!

Posted: June 19

The Final Sound Mix of Spoiler Alert is now complete! Cory Choy (Mixer/Engineer/Sound Designer) of SILVER SOUND in New York did the fantastic job (and kudos to Dave Groman, and his boom op Carlos Hernandez, who did the original production sound for the great job they did under extremely difficult circumstances). This Final mix has really brought the film to a whole new level.

Next Steps: Layback and Conform.

Websites Are Live!

Posted: April 19

Websites for the independent feature film Spoiler Alert are now live! You're already at spoileralertmovie.com, where you can learn about various aspects of production, view the trailer, photos and the film's poster. But there are also two more character sites; www.thegeek-cave.com and www.harrisonkane.com to check out. Stay tuned for more news as it happens.
